Returning this summer alongside the likes of the retro "Y2K," "Tricolor," and "Hong Kong Handover" versions of the silhouette is the "Jackie Chan" edition of Reebok's Instapump Fury. Released for Chan back in the '90s and one of many Instapump colorways oft associated with the Hong Kong martial arts star, the 2014 retro is marked by a White/Neon Yellow/Athletic Navy/Flat Grey colorway that pairs a predominately white mesh upper with bold overlays. Like the "Y2K" release, these are available to pre-order now from atmos and are due out May 23.
Originally released back in 2000 to celebrate the start of a new millennium, the "Y2K" edition of the Instapump Fury is on tap for a return from Reebok this summer. Part of the brand's ongoing 20th anniversary celebration for the unique runner, the "Y2K" edition boasts an OG build of breathable "French Blue" mesh with contrasting white, "Flat Grey," and "Sun Rock" accents throughout. Due out May 23, the Reebok Instapump Fury OG "Y2K" can be pre-ordered online now from Tokyo's atmos.
Two of the top Kicks On Court Champion nominees, Nick Young and P.J. Tucker, continue to debut new footwear and bring out rarely-seen retros even as the NBA season winds down. Last night, both players wore headline-worthy sneakers in their respective losses to the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors. P.J. Tucker, an avid wearer of Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoes, debuted a Court Purple-based Nike Kobe 9 EM, which also feature yellow eyelets and white accents in the form of the Nike/Kobe branding and outsole. Tucker stated that this isn’t the last of his Kobe debuts, as he has plans on debuting the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low HTM before the regular season ends or in the playoffs should the Suns make the cut.
As for Nick Young, just one week after sporting the “Wheat” Nike Air Zoom Generation, Swaggy P opted to bring out the “Wheat” Air Jordan 13, his second wear of the Air Jordan 13 this season (he wore the Air Jordan 13 Low White/Black-Varsity Maize at the end of January).
